# On-screen text

> On-screen text is any written text placed on the video, such as a headline hook, labels or a price, separate from the captions.

A text hook in the first frame doubles the chance the message lands, because it reaches both sound-on and sound-off viewers. Keep it short enough to read in about a second and inside the safe zone.
