CPC (cost per click)

Also called: cost per link click

CPC is the average amount you pay for each click on your ad.

Formula

CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks (or CPM ÷ (CTR × 1,000))

Example: A $10 CPM with a 1% CTR gives a CPC of $1.

CPC links the two numbers above: a cheaper CPM or a higher CTR both lower it. For short-form video, raising CTR with a sharper hook and a clearer call to action is usually easier than finding cheaper impressions.

Part of the Addy video ad glossary. Addy is an AI agent that writes, renders and posts short-form video ads.
