AI actor
Also called: AI avatar, AI creator, synthetic performer
An AI actor is a generated person who appears and speaks in a video ad, used in place of a filmed creator.
AI actors are picked from a library or generated from a description, then given a script and a voice. Good libraries keep the same face across many ads, so a brand can build a recurring character the way it would with a real spokesperson.
Laws in some places, such as New York, treat AI actors in ads as "synthetic performers" that must be disclosed. Using a real person's likeness needs their consent.
