Breaking news ad script template
The breaking-news template parodies a TV news bulletin to announce a launch, a price drop or a surprising fact about your product.
Best for: Launches, sales, price drops and anything you can frame as news.
The 15-second structure
- 0–2sHeadline. BREAKING: [surprising fact about the product or offer].
- 2–8sReport. Reports confirm [what the product does or what changed].
- 8–12sReaction. Locals / experts / [audience] are [funny reaction].
- 12–15sCTA. More at [link]. Back to you.

Filled-in example: a meal-kit delivery service
- BREAKING: dinner now takes 15 minutes in this city.
- Reports confirm the boxes come pre-chopped and pre-measured.
- Local takeaway apps are said to be devastated.
- More at the link. Back to you in the studio.
Hooks to test
- “BREAKING: [product] is now [price].”
- “This just in: [audience] can finally [benefit].”
- “Developing story: [funny problem] solved.”
Tips
- Keep it obviously a parody so nobody mistakes it for real news.
- The headline must work as on-screen text alone.
- Never imitate a real network's branding.
Format that fits best: Breaking news. News-desk parody with lower-thirds and a 'this just in' hook.
